Photography Workshop: Theme: Solitude

This Autumn we start a workshop on with the theme of Solitude and how we this is represented in photography. Whilst solitude can be interpreted as loneliness, this students will be free to apply this theme in many different ways; from someone sitting on the park, a bike chained up all by itself or maybe people talking side by side on the phone. – Escaping their moments of solitude.

The workshop is mainly practical and will consist of the following structure:

  • Week 1:
    • Introduction to the Workshop “Solitude” & detailed structure.
    • Who is Kerim Knight? Who I am as a commercial & editorial photographer and my work.
    • How is can the subject “solitude” be represented in photography?
    • Break
    • Photographers to look at & examples.
    • Class Assignment.
    • Q&A.
  • Week 2:
    • Critiquing students work.
    • Break.
    • Photographers to look at & examples.
    • Q&A.
  • Week 3:
    • Class Critique. Practical work from the previous week.
    • Critiquing students work.
    • Break.
    • Photographers to look at & examples.
    • Q&A.
  • Week 4:
    • Critiquing students work.
    • Break.
    • Photographers to look at & examples.
    • Q&A.
